Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data StudioSneakers collects when you visit or buy from this store, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. It is written to meet the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR.

2. What we collect and why

Information you give us when you order. Your name, delivery and billing address, email address, telephone number if you provide one, and the contents of your order. We need this to accept your order, take payment, ship your goods and handle returns.
Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Payment information. Card and payment details are collected and processed directly by our payment providers. We never see or store your full card number.
Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) and compliance with legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)).

Information collected automatically. Your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, the pages you view, and the site that referred you. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating and securing the store for strictly necessary cookies (Art. 6(1)(f)); your consent for analytics and marketing cookies (Art. 6(1)(a)). See our Cookie Policy.

Messages you send us. The content of your emails and contact form submissions, so we can answer you and keep a record of the conversation.
Legal basis: performance of a contract or our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)).

Marketing emails. Your email address, if you subscribe.
Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in any message, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

Fraud prevention. Order and device information used to detect fraudulent transactions.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in preventing fraud, and compliance with legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(f) and (c)).

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers we need to run the store, and only as far as they need it:

  • Shopify Inc. — our e-commerce platform, which hosts this store and processes orders on our behalf.
  • Payment providers — to take and verify payment. See our Payment Methods page.
  • Shipping carriers and fulfilment partners — to deliver your order and process returns.
  • Email and communication providers — to send order confirmations, shipping notifications and, with your consent, marketing.
  • Analytics providers — where you have consented to analytics cookies.
  • Public authorities — where we are legally required to disclose information.

All of these act as processors under written agreements requiring them to protect your data and use it only on our instructions.

4. International transfers

We are established in the United States, and some of our service providers process data outside the European Economic Area. Where personal data is transferred out of the EEA or the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards, principally the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, together with additional technical and organisational measures where required. You can request a copy of the safeguards we use by writing to us.

5. How long we keep it

Order and transaction records: retained for as long as required by tax and accounting law, generally up to 10 years.
Customer account data: for as long as your account is open, and deleted on request.
Support correspondence: up to 3 years after the enquiry is closed.
Marketing consent records: until you unsubscribe, plus a short period to record that you did.
Cookie and analytics data: as set out in our Cookie Policy.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15);
  • have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16);
  • have your data erased where there is no overriding reason to keep it (Art. 17);
  • restrict how we use your data (Art. 18);
  • receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format (Art. 20);
  • object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time (Art. 21);
  • withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent (Art. 7(3)).

To exercise any of these, email contact@studiosneaker.com with "GDPR" in the subject line. We will respond within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that we do not disclose your data to someone else.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in the EU or UK country where you live or work. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first.

7. Automated decision-making

We do not carry out automated decision-making that produces legal effects concerning you, other than automated fraud screening applied to orders. If an order is declined by that screening you may contact us for a human review.

8. Children

This store is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

Traffic to and from this store is encrypted with TLS. Access to order and customer data is limited to those who need it. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data and will notify you and the relevant authority of a breach where the law requires it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The current version is always published on this page with the date below. Material changes will be highlighted on the store.
